The best community of people around!

Can I Do Band and Other Activities/Sports/Clubs/etc.?
Yes. Absolutely. Good time management skills, advanced communication, planning ahead, and problem solving can create positive and compromising situations for students involved with many things. We will work with you!
Sports/Clubs/Activities
We enjoy having a variety of people involved in band and other things such as sports, activities, etc. BVN has a diverse amount of clubs and activities that a lot of band members are in! We have everything from Track and Cross Country Members, Cheerleading, Football, Basketball, Tennis, Bowling, Swimming, and many others! Band rarely interferes with school sports and activities, but it can happen. Again, good advanced communication, planning ahead, and problem solving can help create the best situation for the student and each activity.
Academics
We have many students involved in band that are also involved in many Honors and AP Courses. They continually receive high marks, GPA's, high ACT/SAT Test Scores, and academic accolades.
CAPS
We have several students involved in the CAPS Program. Most of the band classes are in the mornings, so it is advantageous to take an afternoon CAPS session. There are other ways to make sure participation in both can happen.
Marching Band

Is Marching Band time consuming? What are the commitments?
Yes, marching band can be time consuming with some summer commitments, morning rehearsals,
evening rehearsals, football games, and marching competitions from August through October.
But, it can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
The amount of camaraderie, confidence, hard-work, determination, and feeling of success that comes with marching band is indescribable and very much worth it. It is one of our most visible public ensembles that travels extensively. In regards to your immediate future, colleges and companies take notice of people involved in activities like marching band - it distinguishes you with other applicants because you know how to work hard, problems solve, and be a part of a team! If you have any qualms about it, you should ask a current BVN Marching Mustang member about marching band and its benefits - and give it a try!
