Ensemble Proficiency Interviews and Marching Band Music Audition

Students: Be sure you are preparing your Marching Band Music Audition and Ensemble Proficiency Interview. All the info is in Canvas and it is due on April 10th. This video solidfies selection into Marching Band and probable placement in Spring Ensembles. Seniors do not need to complete this interview. Percussionists also do not need to complete this interview, but instead attend Marching Percussion Clinics and Auditions.

BVN Band Pre-Festival Clinic and Concert - March 31st

Our next event highlights sectionals, a clinic for Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble from Washburn University Director of Bands Dr. Anya Pogorelova, and a performance of our Festival Literature! Parents are encouraged to join us on stage for the clinic - sit next to your student or backstage and experience a rehearsal from the side of a performer! Leadership Team Interviews - April 2nd, 3rd, and 4th

Leadership Team Interviews take place on April 2nd, April 3rd, and April 4th. Make sure you have attended an info session (or reach out to Mr. McCarty) and have signed up for an interview time!

KSHSAA Regional Solo & Small Ensemble Festival - April 5th

Students performing solos or ensembles for KSHSAA will be scheduled for time slots at Olathe South throughout the day.

Fall Colorguard Clinics/Auditions - April 8th, 9th, 10th

Fall Colorguard Auditions take place April 8th, 9th, and 10th! Helps us spread the word!

Blue Valley District Wind Ensemble Festival - April 9th @ BVSW

All BV Wind Ensembles will perofrm for each other and a panel of adjudicators/clinicians. Schedule TBA

Symphonic Band at the BV West Concert Band Festival - April 15th @ BVW

Symphonic Bands will perform for a panel of adjudicators and clinicians at Blue Valley West. Schedule TBA

Java 'n Jazz - April 15th

Join us in the Flex Space for an evening of coffee, baked goods, jazz ensembles from BVN, LMS, and OTMS, and enjoyable camaraderie! If you have any lamps, bean bag chairs, couches, love seats, or any other furniture to let us borrow for the evening, let us know!

Percussion Concert - April 16th

Percussionists from BVN, LMS, and OTMS will join together for an evening of percussion!

Marching Percussion Clinics/Auditions - April 23rd, April 30th, and May 7th

Percussionist will audition for selection and placement in the Marching Mustangs Drumline during these evenings.

Mandatory Marching Band Meeting - April 28th

All students and parents selected for the 2025 Marching Mustangs should attend a meeting in the PAC from 7pm to 8pm on April 28th. We will go over schedules, other information, take care of forms and dues, and reveal the 2025 Field Show.

Jazz Band to the KCKCC Jazz Summit - May 2nd

Our Jazz Band will travel to the KCKCC Jazz Summit for a performance and clinic from world-renowned jazz artists. Schedule TBA.

Wind Ensemble/Full Orchestra Concert - May 13th

Wind Ensemble will participate in a full orchestra performance on the May 13th Orchestra Concert!

Concert on the Lawn (Banquet & Performance) - May 14th

Our annual Awards Banquet will take place in the Commons, followed by a concert out front of the Mustang Statue Entrance!

Graduation - May 17th

Non-senior band members will perform at graudation this evening. Schedule TBA.

Marching Mustangs Pre-Season Mini-Camps - May 28th, May 29th, May 30th

Marching Mustang members will come together to work on music and marching fundamentals, and music for pregame and the field show!
