Summer Checklist

BVN Band Spirit Wear
BVN Band Family and Friends, get your very own spirit wear! Use the following link to visit our store and make your online purchases. Orders will be delivered to the school and distributed to students. Everything should arrive before our first marching festival. GO MUSTANGS!
Marching Mustangs First Annual March-a-thon & Photo Day
The Marching Mustangs will be conducting an open March-a-thon rehearsal on August 23rd!
Students should be collecting pledges to turn in that afternoon. Cast a wide net of asks as prizes will be given out!
Fundraising efforts will be going towards our Branson/Springfield trip on October 3rd & 4th, Band Trailer Wrapping, and Sound System Upgrades. Friends, families, and neighbors are welcome to come watch at any time!
We will also be taking individual, group, and senior photos in the afternoon.
Photo order forms have been sent home with students. Please be sure to ask for them, or pick one up at Back to School Night.

YOU CAN CONDUCT THE MARCHING MUSTANGS or NOMINATE SOMEONE TO CONDUCT THE BAND for just $20! Show up at our field at 8:00am, 9:00am, 10:00am, or 11:0am and get your chance to get up on a podium and conduct the Marching Mustangs!
Marching Mustangs to travel to Silver Dollar City & Springfield October 3rd & 4th
The 2025 Marching Mustangs will be traveling October 3rd and 4th!
Friday morning will consist of a brief rehearsal, then traveling on charter buses to Silver Dollar City for a day of fun, comraderier, and liesure! We will stay overnight in the Springfield/Branson area and participate in the Valhalla Marching Festival at Parkview High School in Springfield, MO. We will return late Saturday evening.
The trip costs for this weekend costs approximately $280 per member and we hope to alleviate these costs (and more) through our March-a-thon. So, PLEASE help us with getting pledges for a fun awesome day and trip!
BVN Band Carwash & First Football Game
The Marching Mustangs will perform at our first football game on September 5th!
And, be on the lookout for information and sign up for our annual BVN Band Carwash happening September 6th!
2026 Marching Mustang Band Camp Dates
Being a member or the Blue Valley North Marching Mustangs requires an audition and summer commitments.
The following summer commitments constitute almost 60% of our rehearsal time, and the remaining 40% happens during the 1st Quarter of school.
Students involved in the Marching Mustangs are REQUIRED to attend all the meetings, mini-camps, and camps listed below.  For the success of the individual and the group, please do not schedule any vacations, appointments, etc. during marching band camp.  Students who miss any portion of our camp may be given an altered role in the show, be deemed an alternate or bench member, or may be moved to a different band class.  Again, these are required and mandatory. If you are unsure how this might affect you, please reach out to Mr. McCarty.  Thank you!
Fall 2026 BVN Ensemble Placement Audition Due
April 9 by 5pm by video on Canvas
For placement in Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble
Mandatory Marching Band Meetings and Forms Fest
April 27th - 7:00pm to 8:00pm - BVN PAC
All students and at least one parent should attend this meeting.
Marching Mustangs Fundamentals Mini-Camps
May 27 - 8:30am to 3:30am at BVN, Lunch 11:30am to 1:00pm
May 28 - 8:30am to 3:30am at BVN, Lunch 11:30am to 1:00pm
May 29 - 8:30am to 11:30am at BVN
Mandatory for all Marching Mustang Members.
Marching Mustangs Percussion and Colorguard Camp
July 21 through July 24 at BVN - Times TBD
Mandatory for all Marching Mustang Percussionists and Colorguard Members.
Marching Mustangs Full Summer Camp
Week 1 - July 27 through July 31 at BVN - Times TBD
Week 2 - August 3 through August 6 at BVN - Times TBD
MARCHING MUSTANG PREVIEW PERFORMANCE & PICNIC - Tentatively Evening of August 6
